Who was the first female truck driver?
While not specific to towing, this is still very interesting. Luella Bates became the first female truck driver in the early 1900’s. She was a driver, mechanic, and truck inspector and was hired by Four Wheel Drive Auto Company in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Her entry into the industry was a result of male labor shortages during World War I.
