What’s the difference between hydraulic and electric winches?
Most winches on tow trucks are operated with hydraulics and have significant power to pull heavy weights. Electric winches are much more commonly found on off-road vehicles and are used for light-duty recoveries such as pulling a friend’s truck out of the mud.
