Who invented the tow truck?
The first tow truck was invented by Ernest Holmes, Sr in 1916 after witnessing an accident where a driver landed in a creek. The car was difficult to remove from the running water, so an idea for a vehicle that could pull another car or truck from a tough situation was born.
